Larry did you ever play with the Barna three crown or Halex three star plastic balls?

I played with both, though it was long ago. If I remember correctly, both were subtly different from celluloid, but close enough that few complained. I believe they were slightly faster, and almost unbreakable. (I mentioned the plastic Barna ball at the USATT Assembly in Las Vegas a ten days ago in the discussion of poly balls, which took place before I tried out the newer version - it's on the video somewhere.) I still have one Barna ball - the one Dell Sweeris used in beating D-J Lee at the U.S. Teams in 1974, which (along with Richard McAfee doing so earlier) ended D-J's six-year undefeated streak in the U.S. Dell signed it and gave it to me as a souvenir and thank you for my help with his son Todd Sweeris, just inducted into the U.S. Hall of Fame.

I liked the Barna balls better. I still have some, too, but none of the plastic Halex balls, the only complaint I ever heard about them was they lost their matt finish too easily. They did seem to last forever as opposed to the current crop.
