That is a very well written letter, apparently by someone named Lu, the admin of that forum.

And unfortunately, this well-written letter will be forgotten under a rug somewhere as we all start playing with the new balls that have been forced down our throats.

Wow..

that is quit a strong anti position against the current president of the ITTF..

hopefully all of this will be negated (polyball) and not enough suppliers and techniques to manufacture this polyball for world demand that will force the delay and finally a revitalization that the polyball is a sham and will be cancelled..

if the game will be reduced into lower spin, it will be fundamentally changed and many players and styles have to adapt for no reason..
manufactures of equipment will have to retool (loss will be in the business books for everbody) even players will have to retool with equipment again and go thru another finding of best set up again.

gosh, i don't know of any sport that has had this many fundamental changes all in some 20 years or less..

1 38mm to 40mm ball
2 21 point game to 11 point games

now a new ball? what is next? (probably making sponge on rubber illegal) to slow down the game.. <-- (( obvious rant :) ))

happy new year everybody !

I don't think equipment manufacturers would mind if the ball change leads to the majority of players looking for new equipment. I think most manufacturers would stand to make quite some money off the many players now in the market looking for different stuff.

Nice article, it seems like there is quite some strong willed opposition to the current ITTF regime. Is there no one to hold them accountable (legally)? or at least a way of prying for more transparent explanations on the topics touched on in the letter?
