Not supposed to be available until sometime in May was my understanding.

And ..ttnp is selling plastic balls that are NOT approved. They should put a disclaimer up.

I was about to order the Xushaofa plastic seamless balls off ttnpp - I didn't realised that they were not approved. Noticed too that Palio have their seamless poly balls up their as well.

The first post on this thread led me to believe that the brand of Xushaofa were the only ones approved.

Our club got a few of these balls and I refused to play with them sticking with the current ball afraid that they could upset my game. Now I hear that some of our top players are playing with the 'new' ball for 2 and half hours at a time trying to get a 'head start'.

It will ironic if the ball that we end up is the 2 piece plastic ball and not the seamless one. Personally I didn't like the sound of the seamless poly ball. It seemed to rattle and it was quite annoying. Hopefully the 2 piece wouldn't be anything like it and will have the spin capability of the current ball. Anything that reduces the spin of the ball wouldn't be good for the game.

What got me with the plastic ball situation is when Adham recently came out with the true motives behind the plastic ball.

I don't have a quote, but I remember something along the lines of evening the level with the chinese players, and making the game slower again.

It's confusing if you are reading that after hearing the entire time that the main goal is to be as close as possible to the current celluloid ball.

When I first read that I thought it was someone just making it up, but it seemed real. :(

Nittaku's ball is a two-piece.

Yep, first it was coz of the celluloid would be banned, but no evidence could be found. The balls would also be seamless so that they would be better... now we've got both seamed and seamless. The increased in size was not justified nor discussed, and now it's to 'slow down' the game. It stinks...
