... and here are the results:

http://www.ittf.com/World_Events/wttc_2016/AGM_BoD/2016_ITTF_AGM_BoD_Decisions.pdf

Quote:
Proposal B, Swiss TT, Test whether an increase in net height would be good. As a result net height change could be introduced in 2017 for 2018.
My comment: This was passed according to My TT reading of Malaysian newspapers.

Passed. So test, then propose a change based on the test, which is seeing how high over the existing net rally shots (not serves or returns) go.

Quote:
Proposal 22, Rules Committee, similar to 21 if 21 not passed but only from the authorised adviser
My comment: This is a little better than 21.

Advice OK except during rallies as long as it doesn't affect the continuity of play. Apparently this has been trialled in the German Bundesliga (sp?). Too bad if you don't have anyone to advise you, while your opponent has the whole crowd going for them.

Also changes to:
T1: Tables
Quote:
The dynamic CoF between the playing surface and that of any ITTF-approved ball should not be greater than 0.6 6 and not be less than ... (this limit will be set during 2016, and submitted to BoD in 2017). The CoF should be essentially the same regardless of the direction in which it is measured.

So what is the maximum going to be? Is the "6" a typo? Will this cause friction for the manufacturers?

T3: Balls
Quote:
<Removal of the temporary changes for non-celluloid balls - player validation, weight, bounce height, hardness, manufacturers own date code>

As promised. FWIW here is the ITTF date code:

Quote:
The date code consists of 4 characters: the first 2 for the month and the last 2 for the year. Month and year are encoded using the capital letters from A to I for the numbers 1 to 9 (A = 1; B = 2; etc. up to I = 9; X = 0).
Examples:
a) ABXC means 1203, which is decoded as December 2003.
b) XEAA means 0511, which is decoded as May 2011
This date code system is mandatory for all ITTF approved ball brands.

T6 : Flooring
Quote:
Markings on flooring shall be clearly different from the colour of the ball in use.

Previously didn't allow white or orange & recommended different shades of the main floor colour.

These were detailed in the link in my original post.

I'm thinking that raising the net might hurt certain styles of play, mainly the quick blockers and pips-out hitters. Choppers might benefit (their opponents would have more net to clear so no low pushes or hits), loopers wouldn't care much (they're already hitting pretty high balls) except for the serve.

Here's one that no doubt Sharara supported...two items in red were added:

Proposed by the Executive Committee
To amend 4.1.2.2:
4.1.2.2 Organisers shall provide accommodation and meals from the evening lunch on the day before the Championships begin until the breakfast on the day after the Championships end for:
4.1.2.2.6 Honorary Presidents;
4.1.2.2.8 members of the President’s Advisory Council

Personally I think that's a perk that can't be justified...but it passed!

Yep, and it's sad that it's not mentioned or discussed anywhere... it's just slipped in...
