Got this in my mailbox:

"ITTF to Announce Table Tennis Revolution in Rio

The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) is inviting you to a historical launch of a new type of Table Tennis.

Full details will be revealed at 12:00 noon at the German National Olympic Committee House on 4 August in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

On the impending launch, ITTF's President Thomas WEIKERT stated: "The ITTF is very excited about launching this new form of sport to the world. We have been working very hard on this concept, which we believe will be a fantastic addition to the ITTF family. I can't wait to reveal the details on the 4th."

Full details on the new discipline of table tennis will be revealed on 4 August at the launch, but there will be new equipment, new rules, new attitude and barriers broken! The new form takes table tennis to newdimensionsand rejuvenates the youth in YOU to pick up a racket to play anytime, anywhere!

We look forward to inviting all the media and officials to the German House, which is located at Av. Lucio Costa, 8060 Barra da Tijuca, RJ Barra Blue Beach Club on 4th August 2016 to witness history in the making. For more information, download the official invitation letterhere:ITTF.com/media/invite.gif.

possibly "multitable" (two tables side by side and one net along both tables)?

I don't like any new change.

Always make the game worst!!!!!

Any way we could complain about the changes...

No bigger balls, no higher net, no bigger table...

The game is dying because the changes make it lesser fun!

Oh come on guys, there's already all sorts of "different table tennis". This one's already being done quite a bit in Europe:

That umpire looks kinda lonely all the way over there... I think they allow the ball to bounce twice on one side of the table. Don't know how they handle short serves - maybe it has to bounce further than the mid-line on the tables. If you can chop real short... maybe there's a rule against that, too. The only rules I've seen were in German, so I don't know.

haha funny

but at 3:20 who are they referring to? "tabletennis terminator", "he is ruthless.." it was inaudible. also who did they refer to as his cell mate, that was inaudible too..

It was referring to S-jan both times. You can turn on the subtitles in Youtube to see the transcript.

I'm sure others can explain who S-jan was, but if you type in "s-jan table tennis aspect ratio" or something similar into Google you'll see what I mean. He was a pest on several forums over the years.

I am intrigued, go on...

How do you chop with this, though? Also think about how many more edge and net opportunities you can get here! I approve.
