They really missed an opportunity when the 40+ was introduced - they could have had a rollout video with AC/DC for the soundtrack!

And now we know more or less how balls turn into 3 star, 2 star, 1 star and practice.

I'm a little shocked how much is done by hand and actually how simple it appears.

The World's Cheapest Marketplace to get table tennis balls from
NOTE: all the balls are those of superior quality.

-- D40+ *** ( ABS plastic material) = 0, 31$ per one
-- 40*** (hand selection, celluloid material) = 0, 78$ per one

https://world.taobao.com/item/418075252 ... 361915.0.0

Of course, you can make even better bargain if purchasing the balls from manufacturer's warehouse directly.

I'm not convinced they do actually test every ball by hand...

I don't think they test every ball by hand, either, but I do think ALL 3 star balls are tested by hand. Since they sell more 1 star balls than 3 star balls there are probably batches of balls which never get tested at all and are marked 1 star en masse. Saves them a lot of time and money, even though a high proportion of those 1 star balls are actually good enough to be 3 star balls. Can't think of any other reason why those old Double Fish 1 star celluloid balls were so good.

This video was actually posted elsewhere several months ago. It's not new.

And come to think of it.. it's not even a "ITTF video". Apparently ITTF gets the blame for everything...

If it's not an ITTF video, please explain why 1) it's on the "Official ITTF Channel," 2) it has the ITTF logo in the bottom right corner the entire time, 3) in the YouTube summary it says ©ITTF All content is the copyright of the International Table Tennis Federation.
