Apparently, according to a post on mytt that proposal about only banning harmful or unhealthy boosting has been withdrawn.

Would like to know whether that is true or not, as this proposal would bring sanity to the boosting question.

Yes I agree it makes sense, but it would be a difficult one to enforce though, especially if the onus is on the manufacturer to prove that it's not harmful.

The proposal is marked with a big red WITHDRAWN in the documents for the meeting.

Look into the § 7.5 Taking off the rubber ??? so stupid, unwise ...
I do have a better inspectorial tool to offer. It doesn't need the rubber to be removed from blade.

Can anything be done to get that proposal reinstated? EG TTA request it to be reinstated? Petition? Something else?

I'm confused by this, what sort of things are they referring to?

Quote:
6.3.New Table Tennis Products:
The CEO reported that:
•There are new products in the market competing for market share and that the ITTF needed to consider carefully how they fit into the ITTF strategy.
•If such new products are financially attractive, it is natural that players would participate.
It is therefore important to ensure the ITTF products are superior to keep its market share.

Not sure either:
Sandpaper world championship?
Using 4 tables as 1 "table" (can't remember what it's called)
APAC in Singapore I think?
Indian league thing?

As an aside here, it looks like TTX is still not especially developed as at that meeting.
Also, reading between the lines, the local state TT association here seems to have better procedures about harassment etc than the ITTF!

ITTF GOT CONCERNED ABOUT the OVER PRICY PRODUCTS.

Quote:
7.6. Affordable equipment
Dr. Alaa Meshref (ITTF Vice-President for Egypet, ref. mine) reported on the high price of table tennis equipment, and how, in recent years, the prices have increased, particularly for rubbers, blades and balls. This is
seriously affecting the development of table tennis in the countries with low economic resources.

The CEO reported that he had contacted the equipment manager in order to get more
information on the latest situation. It seems that, after an initial phase with high prices
due to the lack of good quality balls available, there are now more manufacturers
producing balls, and the different companies are starting to have more and more good
quality balls on the market. That should result in lower prices.
Mrs. Sörling mentioned that the ITTF could speak with the manufacturers to ensure there
are different levels of available equipment, at affordable prices, particularly for beginners.
12-EC-20170923
The Executive Committee resolved to invite FIT members to have a discussion with the ITTF to exchange information and ideas and to ensure there is affordable equipment available for beginners.

I really don't see how a discussion is going to make any difference....

However, if the treatment is not harmful or unhealthy for the persons, I guess we're in the clear. Good news.

ITTF TAKES NEW STEPS TO END THE RUBBER BOOSTING.

Racket Control and Boosting

Since registered racket failures may lead to the suspension of players, the ITTF must ensure that the testing devices, methods and organization are correct. The testing personnel shall be skilled, careful and precise.

Anti-boosting testing methods are being further investigated in order to finally be able to apply existing or future rules. No rule should be introduced without adequate tools for their verification and application.
A pilot phase may be started, where players remove their racket coverings after they have played their last match in the tournament. Coverings and blade will then be inspected on site, without consequences and results being kept anonymous. The observations shall then be discussed, and conclusions taken. The Equipment Committee is ready to prepare and achieve racket inspections as well as propose tools for the controls. Such a project, however, requires time.

The organizer tearing everyone's racket apart after every tournament will never fly for amateur table tennis.

Riskful, either when the Organiser ask the Players to disintegrate their equipment Themselves or done by the Committee.

Whose to blame for inconveniences, like broken rubber or teared blade, caused?

Furthermore, I am sure there would be Naughty Boys Who shall use Epoxy Hard Glue :P

Yes, I think they are talking about new leagues like T2 APAC, UTT in India, and probably upcoming league in Japan as well. You could easily expect that some of these will syphon marquee players away from current ITTF Pro Tour events, which might be a problem for organizers/sponsors/ITTF.
