China wins 2018 ITTF World Table Tennis Team Championships (men and women) yet again. Since the turn of the century, all the ITTF's desperate anti-China measures have failed miserably.

- 40mm ball
- 11 point scoring system
- Change aspect ratio (rubber ban)
- Glue/booster ban
- Ban players changing countries
- Limit China to two players in Olympics
- 40+ ball and change material

2006: China
2008: China

I think the men's team will be at some risk when the generation of Lin Gaoyuan/Wang Chuqin/Xue Fei replace Ma Long/Xu Xin. These young guys are arguably less talented and more one-dimensional. This 'gap' is acknowledged by CNT coaches and some people in China.

The poly-ball (whatever the latest one is now...) IMO has decreased China's edge somewhat, since physical strength/backhand is more important now, and spin less so. No one can say for sure he'll defeat Ovcharov if he plays well now. There are several comebacks by CNT men against relatively unknown players and 2 women's losses that I don't think were there in past championships?

I can see them losing a singles' title (maybe), under pressure from another ryu-seung-min-like performance, but not for team events.

The sport is just too big in China and the nature of TT competition seems less prone to upsets than soccer/basketball etc.

Whether the end of domination is a good thing is subjective I think. It would lead to more uncertainty
in match results and that's surely great. But if it's because CNT get worse and not because the rest of the world get better.. :)

I don't see it ending anytime soon. When I go to China, I see tables in every apartment, Every school, outdoor tables in every park, choice of many clubs to play in, even the bus station has them and many businesses have tables for employees.
I have competed in tournaments put on by the city, (100,000 people) with free entry, free tee shirts and huge trophies. Spectators enter free and the building was packed every time.
I think China should own the sport. :)
