That would be original :D
Could reuse the cat/dragon thing in the film. But they'd probably make a new one. I wonder if they reuse any of the 'thousands' of wigs?

Interesting to see where all that money goes - it's like a world on its own. What do you do for a living? Oh, I spraypaint 500 roses for one scene in Madame Butterfly.
On some random day Salonen just happens to be in the basement rehearsing Mahler 1....

The first time I ever attended an opera (it pays to go to a university with a big music school, though I never did attend one until I'd been there for a while) the thing that impressed me the most were the sets. The amount of work that went into them was amazing, and I was told they had several HUGE store rooms to build and store them in. Some do get re-used (I think the Met does The Nutcracker every year) but I suppose most are built for one use and then stored for a short while before being disposed of or cannibalized for other sets. That Head Carpenter heads a pretty big crew and has a huge workshop down below somewhere.

Egads... it's real!! I thought it was an April Fools joke or something of the sort.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mo ... escription

Seems to be suspended, though - target was EUR75,000, they'd managed to raise about EUR5,000.

OK, another coffee video.
Some excitement in a cafe: caffeine plus adrenaline.

I wonder if they did that with a "real" audience, or whether everyone was in on it.. Great prank, even if they managed to turn about four seconds worth of footage into about 45 seconds worth of video..

Chinese Top Gun. Maybe I'll go watch it this weekend.

Probably pretty jingoistic. Ah well, at least no Tom Cruise.

It certainly was. It'll be interesting to see what Chinese jingoism is like for a change. At least there'll be cool footage of fighter planes I'm not familiar with (I'm pretty sure they're not going to bring out the Su-27 copies for the movie). The one in the trailer looks like a mash-up of a F-16 front end with F-15 tails and Gripen canards.

Interestingly, this ad was fake. The driver was not Jeff Gordon and the car salesman was an actor. The fake ad was called out by Travis Okulski on Jalopnik. See what happened next...
