On a small community forum I use, a friend posted an interesting topic.

What do you actually do on a day to day basis? If you work, it might be helpful to include your job title.

Here's me. I'm a Virtual Learning Environment Manager for a Trust of schools. Basically that means I develop and maintain the website that the kids get their homework on. Though, hopefully, there's a bit more to it than that

0700 - first alarm
0730 - second alarm
0800 - hopefully awake and getting ready
0825 - make a pint of latte on my beautiful, beautiful coffee machine
0830 - arrive at work, check e-mails, deal with anything urgent
0900..1700 - currently, I'm spending most of my time developing a negative behaviour system. however, my day to day jobs vary quite heavily.. from monitoring student and parent usage, to designing websites, to developing and maintaining systems, to training, to managing, right the way through to meeting with our SLT teams to ensure our strategy is having an impact
1220 - table tennis club! (tue and fri)
1500 - table tennis club! (tue)
1720 - arrive home, chillax for a bit
1800 - cook. tonight it's fresh egg pasta with rump strips in a juniper berry and red wine reduction
1845 - go to table tennis (mon, wed, thu, fri) and beat everyone (may not be even remotely true)
2115 - return from table tennis, run bath, invariably eat something sweet (naughty boy)
2230 - get out of bath, read (currently it's a Robin Hobb book, the first after the Farseer trilogy)
0000 - attempt to sleep
0200 - actually sleep
0700 - first alarm

You all get up so early! I'd like to, but I just can't. One of my biggest weaknesses.

Interesting thread!

I've nearly always been self employed, which leaves lots of flexibility in my day..
At the moment (and for the last 10 years), I've have an antique/secondhand shop
An average day would be..

Anytime between 6am & 9am I get out of bed (no alarm, I just wake up when I'm finished sleeping  )
Between 9am & 10am, open shop, drink coffee and read forums/facebook/emails/etc.
10am - 6pm-ish: Make sales throughout the day.. spend time pricing stock, researching values, general biz stuff. Usually have forums/facebook open all day. Grab lunch when I'm hungry... on busy days I sometimes forget!
In the summer months, I often stay open much later.. while there's tourists around. Sometimes as late as 10pm if I don't have TT, or a date!
My days also usually include re-gluing bats on the counter, and administrative work for our association (seeing so I'm president!)
It is nice not having a boss!
On the evenings which I close early... I'm either playing TT somewhere, or out the back doing some repair work for the shop, or off digging for antique bottles (another hobby)... or catching up with one of my four kids.
Mid-week, when I sometimes close the shop for a few days (depending on the time of the year)... I'm off cleaning out old sheds, buying deceased estate house-lots, or doing some "picking". Of course, no two weeks are the same... But generally, I'm doing work stuff pretty much seven days a week... unless there's a TT tournament on somewhere 8)

I'm a night owl and usually pass out around 6AM and get up at noon. I commute about 20 steps from my bed to my home office where I'm on the internet or telephone pretty much all day/night. My desk adjusts between sitting and standing height so I alternate between sitting and standing every few hours (I'm standing right now). I have mobile devices to stay connected when I go out. Table tennis is my escape four times a week. I also have a table and robot in my garage which I use about an hour a day for relaxation.

We'll be singing
When we're winning
We'll be singing

I get knocked down
But I get up again
You're never going to keep me down

Pingponging the night away
Pingponging the night away

He drinks a whisky drink
He drinks a vodka drink
He drinks a lager drink
He drinks a cider drink
He sings the songs that remind him
Of the good times
He sings the songs that remind him
Of the better times
