Bit inspired by similar threads on the German TT forum & Talk Tennis forum. I believe we haven't opened a thread like this yet :music:

I'll start:

Finally saw the movie a while ago, and this song keeps on playing inside my head. Listening to it now...

I have been listening a lot to Pearl Jam over the years (from 1992) and the last couple of days I revisited Ten again. It is such a great album!

Otherwise I have been into Lamb of God lately, as well as frech thrashers Gojira and Swedish mat-metallians Meshuggah. And I still listen a lot to Swedish stone-rockers Dozer, Witchcraft (same genre) and other similar. And I never get tired of Iron Maiden :).

Interesting. Apart from Pearl Jam & Iron Maiden, I don't know the other bands you're mentioning.

But Def, the idea would be to add a youtube link of a song you're listening to right now (or have listened to very recently)

Lamb of God, new song (just found it):

Faith no More (old favourites, new album):

Meshuggah, with one of their simpliest and heaviest song ever (they normally play polyrythmic :o. Just give it to second 28, then headbang     ):

I am going to see Meshuggah opening for Metallica at Ullevi Stadium (50 000 + arena) in Göteborg late this summer    .

Pearl Jam, video of Jeremy, best video ever:

Gojira, their most known song:

Iron Maiden, one of their heaviest and odd songs (in 7/8th beat):

Not sure what I wrote in the previous thread, but most likely it was not the Pretenders with "Back on the chain gang" which is on here ATM.

A moment ago I was listening to a rendition by the soprano Montserrat Figureas of William Byrd's "Come Pretty Babe", for voice, viol, and viol da gamba, in my opinion one of the most beautiful and touching compositions ever written. The composer of the lyrics is writing about a child abandoned by his father and left to be raised by his mother.

William Byrd was court composer to Elizabeth I (the Great). There are several verses to this composition, but generally only the first verse is sung. It goes as follows:

Come pretty babe,
Come pretty babe,
Thy father's joy,
Thy mother's grief.
And as I doubt
To all a dole;
And to thyself,
Unhappy waif.

Come lullaby,
Come lullaby,
Come lullaby,
Come lullaby and wrap thee warm.
Oh thou that thinks no creature harm.

Hmm, must be Berndt. We had a discussion about singing once on the old forum-my arrangement of Erlkönig was the catalyst, I think.
Today I've been listening almost exclusively to Charles Koechlin, one of the greatest composers hardly anyone knows about.
And inbetweentimes working on my arrangement of the Isley Brothers' 'Summer Breeze' (my job=musician).

Reb, we had a "chopper's soundtrack" thread before. Music that relates to chopping or that you listen to to chop better :-).

This is supposed to be broader

Thanks Def, I really like that one. Listened to some more tracks from the same album: it's great. F.e.:

I'm listening to a Belgian band right now, saw them live last month, bit slower then the things above :)
