What's you New Year's resolution for 2017?

Mine is to lose at least 5kg, which will help my TT a lot, and has a lot of other health benefits too. Sure I could try and lose more, but I like to set a realistic target.

So what's yours?

After failing so many times, last year I decided to go without any resolution, and I successfully done that, so I'm going to go with it again this year...

Table tennis wise

1. To start to put in place a business plan I have for testing table tennis equipment in a way that will be useful to all players - a type of custom fitting service specific to a players own arm speed, bat angle, style and type of player they play. Would be good to factor in blade choice too.

2. To enjoy playing table tennis.

3. Had a great time meeting and playing with a couple of forum members this year and it's something I'd like to do more of

4. Improve as a table tennis coach

My 2017 resolution is:

1. Max: Turn my 1 pack into 6 packs
2. Min: If "1" could not be achieved, at least lose 15kg.

This will help a lot on my footwork and movement.

My 2 goals for 2017:

Getting into the top 5 of the club solidly and legally

and

Losing 8-10kg of weight which I magically have gained over the past 6 years

Oops, a little late for this thread but here goes anyway...

To lose weight. Seems to be a very popular goal! I don't care about the scales, I'm just going by what I see in the mirror. When the belly is pretty much flat, I'll be satisfied. I would estimate that I've probably lost 30 lbs and have 20 more to go. So in metric units, would be about 13kg lost, 9 to go?

So far I've just cut way back on what I eat, but the next phase is to actually get in shape. That's where the table tennis comes in! I was NOT looking forward to using the treadmill/stationary bike/rowing machine at the fitness center when I started on this path. Then the other day it hit me that I actually enjoy one sport that could help me reach my goal... I rounded up my long lost and neglected paddle and here we go... After not playing for about 15 years I've actually been up to the table tennis place twice this week. Got really winded and worn out within about 15 minutes the first time... pitiful... Second time was maybe a little better but I hung around for a bit until I recovered, then played some more until I was pretty good and tired again. And to my surprise, I could actually get some shots on the table after all those years. Now I'm really looking forward to making this a regular thing.
