I'm curious how you pronounce "OOAK" when referring to "OOAK forum"?

Personally I pronounce it as "oak", as in "oak tree", but the others are just as valid I guess.

How do you pronounce it?

I just say the four letters.

Do you know, when you search for "OOAK" on the web, the TOP result is some company selling "OOAK dolls"...

Do I need to spell it out?

It's an acronym, not a four letter word (well maybe some people do swear by OOAK).

I'm with Retriever: definitely not a four letter word. On the other hand, I follow the Australian practice for spelling words with double letters, as in "Food - F, double O, D. Sweet - S, W, double E, T. OOAK - Double O, A, K."

Is OOAK an acronym or an initialismsm? I've always assumed the latter and therefore would say O-O-A-K.

If it's an acronym then I can't think of any way to pronounce "Ooa" in UK (or Australian) English. :)

You got me there...I'm not quite sure of the difference. It stands for 'One Of A Kind", not sure if that answers your question?
