Is it ok to use superglue to glue both rubbers onto the blade? Cannot currently afford the expensive glues, so will superglue be okay?

Not if you want to change rubbers reasonably easily afterwards. Depending on your location, some people use glue called Elmers.

Don’t do it - you’ll never get them off again without damaging your blade when the rubbers need changing. A small tube of table tennis glue will last for 3 or 4 bats so will prolly last for a couple of years which doesn’t work out very expensive. But if you must use cheap glue, you’d be better off using Tear Mender or Copydex.

No. In any case superglue is way more expensive than table tennis glues.

I have got some super glue in my draw, and I dont intend to change my tubbers as i’m only using this bat to have a few casual games like 3 times a week. Is this ok?

The other problem (apart from making it un-removable) with superglue is that it dried very hard, so it effectively forms a thin but very hard layer between your rubber and blade. This is going to change the feel and performance of your blade. Proper TT glue form a thin a rubbery layer, which has little effect on the feel or performance.

Ironic. I remember when superglue was ultra-expensive. And everyone really did think it was "super". And it was, in its way...

Why not just use something called "Elmers Glue" or "Rubber cement" or "Tyre puncture solution" etc ?

It is what supposedly used by Top-TT players in secret while TT manufacturers sold them by the gold buckets with mysterious labels.

Be careful. In the US "Elmer's Glue" means this:

This glue is for WOOD. Do not use it for gluing rubber onto table tennis blades. What you want is "Elmer's Rubber Cement". This stuff:

If you can get it, this is supposedly better:

Not easy to find however. Maybe Staples has it.

From "The Profit" by Kehlog Albran

Then a woman said,
Speak to us of Old Age.
And he answered:
Long ago, Elmir the Curious sailed a small craft up the Euriptic River.
He sought the Elixir of Youth.
It was said that a bush grew somewhere along the river bank, the leaves of which, when cooked for many hours, produced a substance which could ward off the effects of age.
For many years he combed the banks of the Euriptic.

One afternoon he happened upon a Strange Bush.
He picked as many of its leaves as he could carry and sailed back to Califen.

Late that evening he had skimmed off two small vials of the thick and pungent substance.
And he called together the elders of the city, explaining that he was prepared to sell his Elixir of Youth.

How do we know it will work, the elders asked.

Elmir was incensed by these doubts. As they watched in silence, he gulped one entire vial full.

Though Elmir lived for many years after, he never spoke to the elders again.
Many inquired of his experience, but his lips were sealed.

Then he had not discovered the Elixir of Youth, the woman shrugged.

True, the Master replied, but his wealth and fame spread throughout the land.

For he had invented Elmir's Glue.
