Honest answers pls ;)

1. I enjoy winning..maybe also why I prefer loop kills. Some kind of domination for a shy guy
2. The fun in playing itself, including some EJ
3. It seems to help my mild depression and make me get sick less

- I need the exercise
- The desire to beat certain people because they're full of themselves
- Difficult to master thus difficult to get bored
- Playing a control game where I make my opponent chase the ball gives me immense pleasure

It is one of the most scientific and technical games out there. It demands more than pure fitness to win. I mean you need to plan ahead, guess what your opponent could do and also try and set him up. Great exercise, lots of fun. And I am addicted.

Table tennis is addicting, and FUN. I have a passion for the game, and also, another thing that attracts me to it is the defensive style.

I put a few days of thought into how I'd like to answer this, and I think I found the best word:

Potential

It's a world where there's always going to be someone better, and it's never too hard to find that person.
It's a world where the potential for upset is ever present at lower levels, as rankings are forever in flux.
It's a world where the potential to play well into old age exists for me.

I could go on, but I think it would get a bit redundant.

(Also addiction, yep, that's a very fair word as well.)

 Addiction :-) Simply becos there are 50+, 60+,70+, 80+ years old ppl still playing the sport at a very high level. If you think you are good, there is an old man/woman waiting in the wings to kick any young'un's ar :cash: e from corner to corner

You want the exercise, but you also want to get as good as the senior players. So there is Motivation and it is Addictive when you want to improve.

You get to play against the tiniest tots who will beat you to a pulp and seniors who will walk all over you.

Addiction
Motivation
Exercise

Eat humble pie at the table every second you are standing there :-) Being a spectator

The game itself. It is a great leveller. The fastest or the strongest does not always win. The tactics. The scope to improve. The variety of styles ...

I’m motivated by the challenge of continually trying to improve my game.
I also enjoy the social aspects of the game. Like any other sport or hobby, it is a brief escape from some of the less enjoyable realities of life.

I play as often as 5 times a week if I can, but I don't have a problem.

I will drive 600 km to have a hit, but I don't have a problem.

I will wait for 40 minutes in the rain to have a practise, but I do not have a problem.

Thanks to table tennis for making me see reality. I really do have a problem.

(with apologies to South Pacific Private radio ads round here)

The competitive nature in general - I need to get my competitive "kick" or I get cranky and depressed.

Table tennis in particular - I am a terrible perfectionist. I need to improve at what I'm doing or it's not fun. Table tennis there is always, always something to work on and improve.

Definitely don't do it for the girls.
