Is it possible the icon could pull off the upset? I think he could.

Timo Boll is in top form, and one of the world's top players. No doubt Dan is a good player, but I don't think he's in the same league as Timo. :o

It would sure be something if he did, wouldn't it?
Table tennis might actually make a headline. Makes me mad that our sport doesn't get any mainstream coverage or respect.
Do you know if Dan still plays in the World Championships? Or can he? I don't know how that works.

Danny would need to hire Tawnya Harding onto his team to have a shot.

We could make the argument of prime vs prime... even if it was in different eras.

WR1 vs WR20.... odds go to WR1 every time... still, at that level it MIGHT happen 1 in 50.

Danny's 66 years old this June. No, I don't think he'd beat Timo Boll. He wouldn't have done it in his prime, either. He did play internationally back then, according to his Wikipedia page his best world ranking was 19.

Danny could possibly beat Timo...if Timo played with his right hand. :P

I think Danny Seemiller could defeat Ma Long all day every day.

It's remarkable the level that Dan Seemiller plays at, at his age. He's in such great shape, and has such incredible experience, it's so much fun to watch him compete with the young studs. That being said, considering his rating is just under 2400 USATT these days, there's no chance that he'd beat Timo Boll today.
What would be interesting, however, is if it was a match using the older style rubbers and rules. Remember, back in his prime, Danny could have the same color rubber on both sides, so when he'd twiddle I imagine it was really difficult to anticipate if he was using anti or spinny inverted. Give Timo Boll rubber from the 70s and let Danny play with one color...now that might be close.

I doubt Timo is less proficient using speed glued Sriver instead of Tenergy - at least it was good enough for world rank no. 1 in 2003

Speed glued Sriver is faster than tenergy. So the playing field is level :).

I bet Danny could kick Timo's ass in the octagon. First round, arm triangle submission.
