OOAK Table Tennis Forum

I still lurked around here for some time, but never went full EJ again since my "migration" to Slovakia. This year TT was again my saving grace, when I was mostly alone I met some Taiwanese girl here during a company badminton tournament, and while chatting she told me she had a flatmate who played table tennis in a club close to Bratislava.

After exchanging numbers, I met the club people last year around this date and found a small, kinda familiar club with no big egos. Agreed to play with them for the next season, and that was the plan until they missed the registration period by one day (they never had to inscribe someone from outside Slovakia), so instead I had to be registered for half season.

As I wasn't ranked, they asked me to help with the bottom league teams, 4th and 6th league. I have to say, I've never played so much against so many pimples/anti players in my life, almost every match I played the other team had at the very least one pimple player, sometimes they had 3 out of 4 players. I played so much I didn't even have time for trainings, as most weeks I was playing 2 matches and even 3 as I had to sub for missing players at 3rd league team.

At the end of the season, I would never expect that, after coming back after 4 years without competition and touching the ball 5 times in total, I could hit a 65.9% win average combined.

I know I will keep coming back for more even if I stop playing again in the future, table tennis is, and will be, the only love that won't break my heart (except for those piece of plastic balls, I either can't spin the ball or offensive material has grown so much it's just too easy to blast away whatever comes to you).
