......Is the reverse pendulum serve.
Even when I was young I would try to do all the different serves ,I showed some people 25 different ones recently, but the RPS seems so hard for me as I can see people doing it on Vids and in games and I know the basic concept but I can't generate the speed/spin and action all at the same time.
Are there any experts out there?

I can't do it well enough to be at all effective. One problem I have is that i have to change my serve grip a lot from what is usual or comfortable, and I have a hard time regaining control of my racket after I hit the serve. I have pretty much given up. If there is a secret, I would also love to know it.

I gave on this reverse pendulum, but I should really try it out, because it matches really well with my service mix-up game. I have a hard time generating spin on the backhand service. :?

I try to do the reverse from time to time but don't get enough side spin on it that I use sparingly. Even after watching the dvd of secrets revealed I still can't see to get the motions right. Plus I'm trying to use it more often having see Joo use it quite often.

I used to be able to get quite a lot of spin off this serve. I couldn't do it well like the pros or anything, but I could do it just by throwing up the ball and flicking my arm and wrist outwards at the right time. My way is really predictable but it does the job at least, especially at my level anyway lol.

hahaha yes its is hard , I tried to copy it from pingpingskills vid but even if I did get it over it wasnt deceptive ie not like Joo anyway where you wouldn't know untill after he has served where my one is a waste of time lol

really good players can get under and top spin from that motion, short, long, fast, slow. Somewhere I saw video of Schlager and it was amazing, he could fake reverse pendulum and then hit with normal, or the other way. But I just can't get any feel for it.

That's the video you meant, I guess.
I can do a reverse pendulum serve, either with top- or underspin. It's just a little wrist adjustment. There's some spin on it, but not as much as on my normal serves.
I tried this serve at home for about 3 hours ( :drunken: ) before I could do it (with no spin!!!). It took about 1 hour to generate some spin (on the table this time, home training was just for motion).

So, I had to put my elbow away from my body to have enough space for my bat to swing. You have to adjust your grip, of course. After that it's nearly all about practise.
At first, go somewhere in your house where there's enough space to move your arm freely and (try to) do the serve until you are too frustrated or you can do it. My three hours of home practise where spread over 4 days.

But everyone of us has a weakness. Mine are inside-out-looping and FH-pushing. Sometimes even my concentration lacks and then there's only weakness :D

This is a great vid... one can see that it's not the fast arm movement but the acceleration of the wrist which is producing this ernormous spin in his service....

That's the one. It amazes me every time I watch it.

The serve at the 5:19 mark on the video completely blows my mind.

I think we should be hard-headed and still attempt to learn this service, never to give up.

It'll blow my mind once I get the hang of this serve. So many evil possibilities. :D

I'm going to aim for this as one of my major achievements next year. Once I get it right, of course.

I'm gonna try the suggestion above and get my arm sore doing that weird motion, hahaha! :drunken:
