Actually, I still don't totally get it myself. Has to do with where on the ball your rubber strikes it, and using a round stroke rather than pendulum. I'm at a total loss at how to perform it and not make it obvious what I'm trying to do though. :?

A chop serve performed with the same bat speed will produce more spin if you contact the ball at the end of yr bat than if you contact near the handle, quite subtle, but often enough to force a mistake particularly at pressure points. (The end of the bat is travelling faster than the handle) but most players assume that you are middling on contact, so do not expect and variation, because your bat speed is constant.
