Or if you find four/five lines too much, as a viewer you could go to:
1. Select "User Control Panel"
2. From the options box on the left side of the screen, select "Board Preferences"
3. Three options appear under the "Board Preferences" headings, select "Edit Display Settings"
4. The "Edit Display Settings" will appear. Fourth option down is "Display Signatures". By default it seems set to "Yes". Change that to "No"
5. Select the "Submit" button to save your changes
From now on, no signatures will be displayed which means you've got a lot more real estate to read actual post content. Makes for a much cleaner viewing screen but IMHO is a little "cold". And if, at a later date, you change your mind and you do want to see what someones signature says, just follow the above steps and select "Yes" at step 4 instead of "No".
Other options within the "Edit Display Setting" are:
Display images within posts: Yes No
Display Flash animations: Yes No
Display smilies as images: Yes No
Display signatures: Yes No
Display avatars: Yes No
so if you are someone who finds the "smilies" annoying, you can banish them too! Personally I like 'em as they can give meaning to what the poster says ie when someone is joking and doesn't want to be taken seriously

- but that's another topic.
