A couple I've sent in the last 24hrs are no longer in my outbox or sent items and there are others I'd received in my inbox which have also disappeared. It's like you've restored a back up version of the website and posts since that backup and pm's have gone  ps the votes on the "do you break the rule" poll in the general section have also changed. we were up to 29 votes but now it's gone back to 26!  I blame the ITTF for this subversion

Sorry guys... I just heard from my hosting company. They had a catastrophic hardware failure that resulted in all data on the server being lost, so they had no choice but to restore from a backup. Unfortunately this can happen to any server anywhere... The good thing is that they were able to restore everything except posts made in the last 12h or so... I should add that this is this is the first time in 3 years that this has happened... and unfortunately it can happen to any forum at any time, not matter how many precautions they take. |

Well obviously not enough "gold-plating" on their servers Maybe they need a good hard look at their mirrors!

Saw it at the morning and thought I had I virus.... All resolved though withing the 6 hours. |

I was really surprised.... the server in only a few months old, and the performance has been fantastic... Seems one of the Raid controllers failed and ruined the whole file system. I guess it was a good test of their backup system at least... |
