OOAK Table Tennis Forum

Well, it may finally happen after nearly 10 years on the forum together Haggisv and I are booked in to meet one another this week (all going well, and assuming Luna gives him leave ).

Now given we are both rather camera shy (yes, I can hear the shouts of Vid! Vid! Vid! already), I'm not sure whether there will be video evidence of this meeting if it happens. And of course if Haggisv completely tears me apart any video evidence could get accidentally "lost"

Fingers crossed it comes to fruition as I've been waiting a long time to meet the man who I've been virtual friends with since 2007.

All good things take time. Obviously Haggisv has been savouring waiting to play me like you'd savour a good wine. He played you the way you drink a cheap wine in its early days

Post the time, date and venue for the match and I'm sure some of our Australian friends would attend to video the match for us all.

Now what would be fun, remember your old "head to head" virtual smack down games Reb, how about starting one of those, see who the members think will win and then post the video to show who really did win. One of the most interesting things for me about the encounter is that it will be inverted/LP vs inverted/LP. They are very rare these days so it will be good to see how you both set about tactically beating to a pulp the other.

I think you should also play straight off when you first meet, so no excuses for being tired, injured, too hot, sweat getting on the inverted, embarrassed AND then play each other again just before you end the session to see which of you is better at tactically working out how to exploit the others weaknesses.

Judging by the quality of the verbal jousting between you two over the years this should be a classic - but will we need a new moderator or forum admin at the end of all this

ps the very fact that you've posted at all about the get together tells me you're exited by the prospect of the match up and the desire to watched by millions.

I make haggivs favourite. Knows too many international and ex international players not to have picked up some good experiences and tips. Plays to a high standard. Has a whole shop load of equipment to have learned what equipment suits him best. Plus, must be desperate to finally silence the clammar for a video of him playing, and what better way to do it than by beating the REB. Immortality beckons for one of you.
