OOAK Table Tennis Forum

The OOAK shop gets some rubber/blade samples from manufacturers on occasions, some free (rare ), some discounted some normal price. Obviously some I used for testing, but I've ended up with quite a few spare bits & pieces (brand new).

I thought instead of these sitting around at home, waiting to find someone I can give them to, I thought I might share them around on the forum instead, where I'm sure they can be put to good use

I thought I might run some simple and fun competitions (say monthly), where the winner get the free item. I propose we'd open a thread for 1 week, asking for something like (one at the time):

- coolest new avatar
- best new forum member title
- funniest TT one-liner
- funniest TT photo
- funniest TT story
- make funniest TT graphics
- funniest poem about OOAK forum
- find the top TT player in facebook
- strangest place to write the name of the forum (SuperHappyFunSlider)
- best OOAK forum slogan
- funniest TT point (real or imaginary)
- any more?

I'd choose the top entries after 1 week, and we run a poll and people vote to see who wins, in the following week.

I think this could be (1) a lot of fun, (2) and might bring some new friends to the forum, (3) promote the forum a little and (4) some of he lucky members end up with a free item...

Do you like the idea?

we could do it as a bit of a promo for some of the things too..

like one ofrum i was in once had a competition for the "strangest place to write the name of the forum" in.

i could go around and write OOAK just about everywhere. maybe on the roof of a public toilet or something?

Thats a real sad idea suggesting public destruction and graffti

I suggest you could make a tempate flyer that we could print off and pin to our table tennis clubs or association notice boards. This would be direct marketing to the right potential table tennis players

I personally like the idea of this thread. Since the idea is to have fun with this, we could make our own little OOAK trading signs and put them up in strange and unusual places, and take pictures. I'm already thinking of a few. I like all of the suggestions (best avatar, poetry, etc.). A little comic relief is a good thing. How about it, guys?
