Thought it would be interesting to see the effect of the new balls on cost. Later we can add durability into the equation and see the 'real' effect.

Please feel free to add/correct and I'll update this post.

It seems to me that availability is clearly limited at present, but actually prices are very similar to celluloid.

Good point, Bribar are also pre-order I believe so current availability is even weaker than it appears

I think the joola and tsp balls are generally cheaper

Megaspin is giving a special offer on the Joola balls at 38% off. They're currently even cheaper than the DHS balls, which is unheard of for Joola. This price won't last. The regular price will be $15.95. A six-pack of regular celluloid Joola Super *** is $10.95, so after this introductory offer the Joola plastic ball will be significantly more expensive than Joola celluloid balls.

European suppliers seem to be offering comparable prices on celluloid and plastic balls for now.

Bribar has the Joola plastic six-pack at £7.75/$13.20US, same price as six Joola *** celluloid balls (2 three-packs).

Contra has the Joola plastic six-pack at 9,95 EUR/$13.58US, 2 three-packs of Joola *** balls are 9,50 EUR.

Bribar has the TSP plastic *** is £3.95 for three balls, which is LESS than what they want for the TSP celluloid *** at £4.50 for three balls.

So far, only white balls are approved. There is not even one approved plastic orange ball.

I saw that Paddle Palace says they'll have the Nittaku 3 Star Premium plastic balls in October. I also saw that Joola will be selling some of theirs at the US Open. I might pick some up if they still have them when I get there.
