NITTAKU PREMIUM 40+ IS OFFICIAL BALL FOR 2017 WORLD TABLE TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS!

The Nittaku 3-Star Premium 40+ is chosen as the official ball for the next World Championships taking place in Dusseldorf, Germany May 29 through June 5, 2017.

ITTF and Nittaku formally signed the agreement on December 10, 2015 during the GAC Group 2015 ITTF World Tour Grand Finals in Lisbon, Portugal. The recent Croydon Open tournament here in Melbourne also opted for the Nittaku Premium 40+, which was a pleasant surprise.

At the moment I'm still using orange cell balls in my robot, because the unnaturally bright colour is easier to pick out when the balls go adrift in the garden! As attrition bites, I'll probably go to the Butterfly Easy Ball, white or not…

Great news if the balls become more affordable, as the current prices is a huge blow to the smaller clubs.

Yes, I'd be happy if ANYONE would make an ITTF approved orange plastic balls!

Is anyone getting a better price than €7.50 for a 3 pack of NP+ in Europe at the moment ?
Quite surprised that no one has managed to make a decent seamed ball that competes with it.
That said most of the local official & vet tournaments currently use the XSF or similar Tibhar one.

Isn't the Tibhar seamed? Supposedly the same as the DHS?

ITTF has been using garbage DHS balls for a while and the players really were not happy. Many who played in the Euro 2015 tourney were very happy with the NP40+ ball, as it was the official ball of that event. It's my opinion that the NP40+ is the best out there and it should make for a better game for the pros.

Perhaps this will lead to other manufactures making better quality balls too.

depends on the style. defenitely not for defenders or slick anti players as this ball enables less spin then most other plastic balls, the only ball even worse being the new butterfly g40 which is an even bigger nightmare

I'm quite impressed by the Nittaku. Not far off Cell. Price is the only thing keeping me with xsf.

Interesting. As a defender my favorite ball is the NP40+. I enjoy the even bounce and longer rallies. Agree that the G40 has clearly the least spin and also awful sound.

When it comes to my match results (win ratio) with different balls I think it would be: DHS clone = N40 > Seamless > G40.

I'll have to try the DHS balls again to see if I can notice the spin difference. But surely the difference is a lot less between DHS and NP40+ than between NP40+ and G40.

I've not used the Nittaku at all. We mostly use the XSF, which I really like.
