It could be that we, not being the biggest market for tt products, are still using older stock, where older = worse. Also where people are clueless and after a bargain (given the increased price of the poly ball), the bargain is offered on older stock. I know I had to insist that our association buyer check on the date code of balls being purchased, after the first effort of getting quite old balls relatively cheaply.
