I had a similar coupon from AliExpress but could only be used over $20?

At the time I put my order in, the best coupon was for $4 off no minimum. Since I am not a new user, I was not able to get the $10 coupon to confirm the rules. $10 off $20 is still good, it's not difficult to find $20 worth of stuff to buy.

It felt just like the white versions to me when we played last week GMAN.

I will place an order soon, is this the one on AliExpress?

Because right now it's 20 balls for $12. That comes to 60 cents/ball. Fake?

I played with another ball and didn't notice a cracked sound and the spin was fine so maybe the first one was a sample defect. However, the second ball developed a problem I'd never seen before. You know how when you fold a plastic credit card the crease becomes white? The second ball developed that white discoloration in a couple places, one along the seam, and one across the seam.

That's the vendor I used. I don't think they're fake because the sound and feel is similar to the white balls. I think I can tell the difference if someone tried to pass off the old celluloid balls as plastic. Maybe it's just quality control issues because I think the orange balls are using a different kind of plastic than the white ones.

BTW, the vendor seems good. My shipment was a little crushed and three of the balls were dented. The vendor is sending out replacements for the dented balls.

I too bought a batch (40) from Ali express, and had a couple of opportunities to use them. I couldn't tell the difference between them and the white dhs d40+, so seem as good as any abs ball to me. Very pleased as I play in a few white walled venues.

Any new orange 40+ balls appeared in last few weeks? My Ping Pong Emporium(garage) has white walls so orange balls are better. We did use the newest white Xushaofa balls recently and although tricky to see they did perform better than the orange Vision training balls we normally use.

If someone gets these balls can you please report on the playability?

Well I can answer my own question. They play very well. No difference between the DHS white or Orange. The problem is getting other people to use them. For some reason it seems like other people are just allergic to orange balls....

They seem quite good to me also.

Sadly only 12 balls survived shipping.

Regarding crushed balls. Does the hot water trick work for plastic as it did for celluloid? I've had a few cracked plastic balls, but never dented.

You won't get any crushed balls. When plastic balls go they basically crack and split. When they go there's no repairing.

This seller has orange and white DHS D40+ balls for around $0.30/ball on eBay. Reviews are good. Are they fake?

I'd also like to try buying the D40+ balls from AliExpress, but who should I buy them from? Not sure which sellers are legit.

The hot water trick only really works in basement pong. I've tried this in the past, any repaired balls are pretty much useless, since they bounce funny anyhow.

I highly recommend these people:

The balls arrived in a very sturdy cardboard box, with "Fragile" and "Do Not Crush" labels all over it. The price seems to have dropped by 2 cents (for 20 balls  ) since I ordered, too! And they have the bi-colored balls (you should try some of these too).

Yep, I found ABS plastic is prone to cracking, so even if you do the hot water trick the dented edges have minute cracks and don't "heal" back.

Also, the old Poly plastic I think expands slightly and you end up with a deformed ball, while the new ABS doesn't seem to deform as much but seems more fragile ( breaks easily and doesnt last :-P )

I actually like the DHS Orange ABS ball...

Maybe you all will experience differently, but me and Gman have experienced all sorts of prejudice against using the orange ball. Even with exhaustive explanation that the balls are 40+ etc etc, they still refuse to use them and whip out with their anti-long pip balls like the BTY, Joola, or Xushaofa poly balls. I remember not too long ago when everyone seemed to prefer the orange cell balls! :@ :swear:

My eyes don't track the white balls quite as well as the orange one, so this bums me out.
