I'd have to stick with almost the setup I have found to work optimally for me:
One Friendship W-1 DEF+ blade.
One DHS Hurricane 3 "old sponge" (not Neo).
One Friendship 802-40 (because the Joola Snabb that I have now is off the LARC, and for a long time I have wanted to try the 802-40)

I cheated a little. The 802-40 is not in house yet, but on its way from China, so if we can wait a couple of days before we call the missus...

What I currently play with almost all the time these days is one of my many Sanwei M8 blades, with a sheet of Tibhar MX-P on the forehand and Kokutaku 868 on the backhand. I could actually use any of many rubbers, but will probably have the MX-P on it for a long time since I paid so much for it. (I have a bottle of Falco, a bottle of Seamoon, a bottle of Wendy's... enough to keep it going for a while when the "tensor effect" wears off..) I suppose I should also mention the occasionally used backup - another M8 with Tin Arc 3 on one side and Yinhe 9000 on the other. Can't really tell the difference..

Very tough situation.

I have a new strategy for dealing with this. I compare the quite modest amount that I spend on table tennis with the fairly frightening sums I have been shelling out on road cycling. Then I say, see dear, it is really quite reasonable, these rubber sheets etc.

I wish I had discovered this sooner.

The problem with adopting this "strategy" is that you have to find something else to spend more money on than you do on table tennis...

I'll have to stay with my current setup, I've been playing well with it recently, even with a sore ankle limiting my mobility.

Xiom Hayabuza Z+ FL
Donic Bluefire M2 Max Black
Spinlord Keiler 1.8 mm Red
