I realize I changed my opinion quite alot, but rethinking doesn't hurt, does it? :)

I came across the (recently) released Andro Rasanter series (1.7mm,2.0mm,2.3mm). There are 2 favorites: R47 and R42. I do like how this rubber seems to be the next big thing since it's specially designed for the plastic ball.

If I go for the Rasanter series on FH, I would choose the R42 2.0mm.

Do you think this might be a good choice?

Sounds good. Any decent tensor in 2.0mm and in the medium hardness range will probably be ok, and those fit the description. Go for it.

Does anybody have an idea about the durability of the Rasanter series? I know they've not been out long, but still

In general, my policy is not too buy without first testing. In the past, I ended up discarding so much rubber including Xiom, Rakza, Hurricane, Joola, etc. that ended up feeling so much different from the reviews and what I expected. It is not that reviews aren't helpful but each player is so different in what they are looking for.

With that so said, it I were to buy completely blind, I would buy Tenergy, maybe 1.9. You may not love it, but you will probably not hate it. But then again you might. It all becomes probabilistic.

Yeah, especially the reviews on TTDB. Having tried many, many rubbers my opinion is that they're all more alike than different, don't believe what people say that such and such a rubber is three times faster and gives four times as much spin. To tell the difference you have to put them on the same blade back-to-back and really THINK about what you're experiencing when you flip that racket around. My policy these days? Just buy... it's all the same anyway... Anything reasonable will work reasonably well, as well as anything else that's reasonable, just ignore the advertising, which is generally quite useless for trying to decide what to buy.

Tonight I put the Barracuda and Vega Europe back on the same blade that I had used the boosted Mercury II for a couple of weeks. Could instantly tell the difference. Loops we spinnier and pushes were much harder to keep low.

Overall I beat someone in 3 tonight that beat me in 3 last week. Not saying that a Euro tensor is better than a $5 Chinese rubber but they are definitely different.

At the very least, Chinese rubbers will make you work super-hard to get your strokes right and when you switch back to the Euro rubbers you might play really well with them after adjusting.

For me totally opposite, after switching from Euro rubbers to Chinese my accuracy and spin went up a lot more, while the speed dropped off quite a bit. But now, I can't easily switch back to Euro rubbers becos now Euro rubbers "feel" uncontrollable!  I find the Chinese rubbers better for me and I can hold my own against higher level players who are using something like Butterfly Super-ZLC JK with Tenergy 05/64FX rubbers ! :-D

Sounds like a similar experience, though my strikes have always lacked a little power so that's probably the difference.

Can't say I've noticed that much of a difference, even comparing them back to back. Yes, they do feel a little different, you do have some minor adjustments to make, but in the end the results are the same. The difference is pretty subtle in any case.
