Hi, I was thinking about purchasing a New table tennis racket on Black Friday. I am very very new to the Table tennis community, and I do not know a lot of common terms, so please pardon my newbie-ness.

The previous paddle I've been using was the Stiga cannon.
I use the penhold grip and only hit with the red side, never the black.
Looking for it to be in the $45-$55 range.

If you can list custom parts for a custom paddle it would be great! If you can also provide a great tutorial to assemble one, that would be awesome!

Hello...

As you can imagine, some of the questions you ask are pretty commonly asked. Have you spent any time looking at the forums, sticky threads, or using the search facility?

I'm not sure about the extent to which TT stuff is subject to "Black Friday" deals - I certainly don't think you'll get any massive discounts on decent quality stuff, and if you shop around, or are prepared to wait, good quality stuff can be obtained very cheaply anyway.

Depending on who you buy from, there's a strong chance that they'll make the racket up for you anyway.

Although, you had to look very carefully to make sure the discounts were from real previous prices. I only bought a couple of rubbers, and they were only really cheaper than i previously paid because of coupons and "coins".

You could go to colestt.com and get some pretty great stuff at really cheap prices. It's a trusted site too.

EDIT: To be honest though, I think what you already have is just fine already, depending on how new you are. If you've been playing for less than a month, you don't need anything else, really. If you think you're ready though, I guess you should just go for it :P

If you're looking for an actual penhold racket, look through here:

https://www.aliexpress.com/store/group/ ... 541/1.html

I see a few JPen blades at the bottom of Page 2, for instance. A lot of these blades are available in the penhold version, probably the thing to do is write them and ask for a recommendation. If you never hit with the back side of the blade, consider having them put only one sheet of rubber on the racket. Much lighter, and light is good when it comes to penhold.
