There were a number of 10.5mm ones -Nittaku rorin, a few xiom, etc
I suspect there was an 11mm but I think it was a custom/special order thing.

Thank you for answering but I do have one question: I see the Rorin often and see that it is only sold in a 9mm version. Are all Rorins 9mm now, and only the old ones 10.5? Where can I find a 10.5 mm Rorin?

Two big sources of Japanese Penhold blades are Armstrong and a Taiwanese online shop I can't seem to find anymore. Armstrong's catalog is full of them.. all sorts of blade shapes and handles, probably for specific playing styles.

I've always found armstrong and some of the other japanese brands (eg, darker) a bit hard to find info on.

TSP Special Dynam 10.5

Im pretty sure there was a 10.5mm Kokutaku blade.

Is there any particular reason you are after such a thick jpen?

Currently I own a 9mm JPen and I am wondering if the thicker hinoki will give me a feeling I like better. Plus, it would be pretty novelty to have the thickest jpen.

Haggis posted the 2012 catalog here:

viewtopic.php?f=26&t=18868&p=207262&hilit=armstrong#p207262

About six pages of Japanese Penhold blades. Note the funky undercut handles on some, plus the whole page full of Rotor-style blades (which can probably be used for RPB, though more likely used for twiddling with long pips). A lot of one-ply blades in there, unfortunately these were all scanned small, so impossible to read the little logos...

Iskandar might be talking about this shop http://www.ping-pong.tw/index.php?cPath=24 . They claim that they are an OEM of Jpen blades that are being sold by the famous brands. They also sell different 1 ply hinoki wood variants, usually american cypress, japanese cypress, kiso hinoki, and their very own taiwanese cypress. I myself owns a 10.5mm American cypress jpen blade which I bought from them.

Not sure if that's the shop I saw before, but wow. It's amazing. Lots of different handle styles, blade shapes, thicknesses.. some are specifically for RPB (light handle, round blade shape):

They aren't hugely expensive either (though one wonders about shipping).

Grain looks in the right direction, too...

American Cypress seems cheapest (most blades are USD39), Taiwan Cypress most expensive. Most of the Kiso Hinoki blades are surprisingly affordable (as low as USD56). Much cheaper than Butterfly, at any rate.. They also have one ply shakehands blades (probably quite heavy for a shakehands blade). Thickest one ply blades seem to be 10.5mm, and they don't have those undercut handle type blades like Armstrong sells (looks like an Armstrong thing).
