Hi,
I just registered here because I need some help in choosing right bh rubber.
My current bh rubber is acuda s3 but it is too soft.
I've been searching a lot on https://revspin.net/rubber/ but haven't found anything I would be content about.
Rubbers have a lot of statistics right there, one of them is Sponge Hardness.
So I need a rubber with hardness about 4 or even 4.5 do you have any good reccomendations?
Since I started buying professional equipment I played only with tensors so it would be the best to stick to it.
It also should be good for plastic balls.

My fh is xiom omega IV euro, I've played with it for a month or so and I like it.
Do you reccomend changeing it to xiom omega V euro? Is there a big difference?

Regards,
Mateusz

Ps.
I base choosing right setup on this YT video

I'll be the first to ask the usual questions:

* How long you've been playing?
* What's your level?
* Do you have a video of your play?
* Have you tried your club mates setups?
* How do you know Acuda S3 is too soft?
* Why do you think you need Hardness of 4-4.5 (in whatever units...)
* What happens if you flip your paddle and play BH shots with your current FH rubber?

* I've been playing for ~10 years with some big breaks, although I train in a club for just 4 months.
* I can't really tell
* no
* yes I did but I never know if their rubbers will fit me because they have different blades
* the dwell time is too long I can't be as aggresive as I'd like to be
* in units of this site- players rate the rubbers (there is scaler to deegrees-just check the site)
AND because of this chineese guy's video I added in Ps.(he admits the best setup is flexible blade + hard rubbers and I'm gradually going for that )
* I didn't try that

btw, I'm about to buy andro rasanter r42

If you are training in a club, just ask a coach or someone who actually saw you play - it usually works better than a typical guessing game on the Internet.

Well, I asked my coach but she just said she isn't familiar with rubbers and gave me hers racket to try her rubber(it worked pretty good, she has tibhar aurus and some joola blade) but again she has a different blade.
Nevermind I'll just take that rasanter r42(a used one but in great condition) and see how it goes.
Maybe I'll ask somebody from my club to film me and then I'll post this.
Sorry for my grammar if I made big mistakes and thanks for replying ;)
Even posting this topic helepd me a little, cheers.

I think importance of blade+rubber matching is somewhat overblown. And again, try your current FH rubber on BH and see what happens, it will take 5 minutes. More likely than not, it's probably a technique problem ;)

The key thing is to find the broad category of rubber that suits your B/H as to speed and sponge softness, which you could do both by trying the R42 and your Omega IV on the BH. Then it shouldn't really matter which rubber you try as long as it falls into the same category

Just curious - how do you know it's "too soft"? What are the symptoms?

I find it amusing that you'd find "something you'd be contented about" based on dubious numbers on a web site - the usual way to find a rubber you're "contented with" would be to actually hit with it (and, indeed, play with it for a couple weeks at least). I'd take anything I find on that website with a huge canister of salt.

Most of the stats on sites like the above (and including OOK, at times) are based on user perception and input, and hence, COULD be misleading... I wouldn't go, entirely by these stats...

What unit of measurement is 4 or even 4.5 ? Typically, the hardness of the sponge is measured in terms of degree (°)... So the range for what may be termed as hard rubbers, would begin at around 40°-42°..

It's not necessary that a tensor based rubber would be best for you, nor is it true that tensors are best for the plastic... Case-in-point - The DHS Neo 3 Hurricane is not tensor based, and it works pretty well on plastic balls ...What equipment works for one, depends entirely on one's style and skill-level.

Yes, I like the Omega IV Euro rubber too .. I haven't played with the Omega V ... I suppose there would be some difference ... I believe, most of these companies have to introduced new products, regularly, to stay commercially relevant .. ... However, if you're happy with the IV, then let it be ... If it ain't broke, don't fix it..

Well guys, it certainly wasn't misleading for me. Choosing my rubber based on this site's stats was a very good idea. This rubber is great for me. Now iI can improve my backhand topspin, I feel the ball, I have controll. I didn't have that with acuda s3 because the ball sinked in the rubber entirely too fast due to the very soft sponge. Now i know it by my expirience - harder rubber = more controll and better feel. Now I progress very fast because I'm not afraid to use my bh freely, it was a milestone in my training. Cheers!
