Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

I'm fortunate in that someone is giving me a new (never played) W6. That's the good news.
The issue is that I've only been playing a few months...sort of relearning the sport after a very long layoff. Right now I'm using the 2008 xp Dawei rubber 1.8 mm with which I am having no problems with. I'm OK with recognizing spin and can at least defend spin-proficient low to mid intermediate players adequately.
I'd classify myself as a "beginner plus plus" I guess.

Also, I will add that I'm in no hurry to switch equipment. I'm determined to take it slow and easy until I can refine my stroke(s) and play more consistently. I'm not an equipment junkie (yet) but I'm just kind of looking ahead and also trying to learn a little bit about rubbers/blades.

Given that there seems to be an infinite number of rubbers out there, selecting a rubber (or blade for that matter) is way over my head and am tossing this out to you...the experienced ones.

Any feedback/suggestion would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have that blade, although I don't really use it. I have LKT Rapid Soft on it and it seems to work ok. As I said I don't use it anymore though.

I think that rubber (2008 xp Dawei rubber 1.8 mm) would not be too bad on the W6 for a beginner to intermediate player...

Did u use the h3 neo for your forehand? If so, was it good with the w6?

H3 is, in general, quite slow, so it's easy to control shots and good for a beginner. However there are a lot of other rubbers that would work as well. Some of them go for $5 a sheet - Batwings, Yinhe 9000, Yinhe Mercury II, Sanwei T88-III, all will work just as well. The Dawei 2008 rubber you mentioned does have one major drawback ... Weight. It is quite heavy. With 1.8mm sponge somewhat less so, but thin sponge has its own drawbacks.

Any mid firm or somewhat soft rubber will do you fine on that blade.
