Post subject:  Sponge hardness table

Here is a growing list of sponge hardness levels of rubbers, as measured with my durometer. I've explained in there that adjustment needed to be made to the values and why, but the results tie in quite well with my expectations.

I'll continue to add values as I get access to them... Waht do you think?:

Awesome! This'll be a really awesome guide once it fills up with a bit more stuff. How much was that durometer anyways?

If you're taking requests, could you measure the hardness on Desto F3 and Actor?

The durometer was about AUD$250...although it looks of good quality, I don't know why they are so expensive. It may be that the calibration is expensive perhaps...

Yes it's the commercial version with the orange sponge, just noticed I didn't mark it in. Only the blue is a little softer... was nice to actualy see my readings tie up with my impression, since it can be real hard to judge... Of course as you know there seems to be quite a bit of variation across the orange sponge version...

alex, is it possible if u measure the hardness after a go of super-priming/ FTB/ CTEing as well?

Nice chart! Combine this with silver's database and you'll have a really usefull reference source for rubbers.

How are you measuring this? Are you cutting a corner of the rubber and removing the rubber from the sponge then using the durometer? I'm not questioning your results. Just wanting to know what your method is?

Yes I will take these measurement every time I do a treatment now.

For the 999 Nat, it went from 44 to 39 after the booster treatment. That was 3 layers, 2 thick 1 thin...which is a little risky... I won't use as many layers on this rubber again since it risks the topsheet from coming off.
