Does anyone know any other places that sell foam edge tape? The only one I can find is made by Dr Neubauer, and this tends to be a little expensive, so I'm hoping to find a cheaper one.

Hardware shop? They sell it for use as weather sealing for doors and windows.

I've checked out many stores, they never have exactly what I'm after. It's either too wide, too thick, or it's doubly adhesive, or a combination of those.

Unfortunately the stuff they sell wouldn't give much protection to a blade. its too porous and not robust enough.

I had some Stiga foam tape years ago that came on 2 bats from China. I've never seen it for sale though. I'd love to get some myself.

I tell you what would make GREAT foam edge tape...and that is waterproof LED strip lighting. Its made of a nice spongy silicon and you can pick it up fairly cheaply. I'd love to run a battery into the handle and play with it lit up :P  Only trouble is it may add too much weight to the head....but the battery would balance it out

I've seen weatherstripping in various materials, some of it was pretty mushy, other types were denser. The doubly sticky stuff can be fixed - just stick more tape over it.

Are you allowed to return the ball with the racket edge? Might be an issue with that "double cheeseburger" Re-Impact blade posted a while back.

That looks good, thanks GMan4911

Too bad they don't have wider than 10mm, but I guess it's designed to just cover the blade edge, not the edge of the rubber.

I don't suppose anyone has tried these, to see how well they stick?

I have the plain Eacheng ones. They stick pretty well. Just make sure the edge of your racket is free of dust, dirt, wood particles, etc before applying them.

I think you competitor rob kapsitis has them branded with his store name but I'd imagine they would be little use to you.

Years ago bought a stiga one from ttnpp.com but it's only 8mm.

In addition, another of your competitors - Pinky also at least uses his brand edge tape when he assembles a racket for you - I have some on mine that he put on a couple of years ago. I assume he sells it as well.

It's not foam but something I find protects soft ALC blades very effectively is something called gaffer's tape. I think it is better than conventional TT edge tape. You can get it on Amazon and other places in any color you want.

Gaffer's tape is, in essence, very high quality duct tape. Photogs like it because it doesn't leave residue when you remove it. I don't think it would offer as much protection against impacts as does foam tape but I'f you stick about 3-4 layers of it on it should..

Incidentally, check out this web site. Any and every kind of tape imaginable (but I'll bet no actual edge tape.. ).
