After 12 or so years away from the sport (preceded by another 12 or so years after uni…) the table tennis bug has come back, and I'm looking for a budget table in the $400-$600 Australian dollar range.

Unfortunately, our house is too small to have a table inside, so I'll have to store it and use it in the garage. It will be a narrow playing space at about 3.5m, but it will have to do for practice.

My question is, will an indoor table survive in a Melbourne tin garage that can get pretty hot, or should I be shopping for an outdoor table?

Thanks, Ersin. I actually do want one of Robert's tables (Xiom T5) in future, when/if I have a bigger budget, a bigger house and can keep the table in its own room. :)

I decided to take advantage of the current eBay Australia 15%-off coupon to pick up an outdoor table with an aluminium composite top this time around, rather than stress about having an MDF table get damaged from heat or moisture. For now, given the not-ideal storage and cramped playing space, I've gone with the more climate-resistant, "good enough" table.

T5 is the best. Better than sanei. Good choice. I would still give him a call. He can direct to right direction. Dunno much about composite tables regarding the bounce.
Good luck with your search
