Hi
Im just starting to appreciate this sport. My playing style is more of modern defender. I can hit pretty well with forehand, able to play 3rd ball attack and comfortable with BH chop .5-2 meters away from table, occasionally counter hit with my fh.

What would you recommend for a modern defender FH rubber?

Yenhe T-9 Combi blade.

DHS Hurricane 3 is actually surprisingly good for chopping and countering on forehand. You could look at the mid range defensive rubbers, Victas have some good rubbers for both chopping and attacking on forehand. Ideally something with a medium range sponge like a 1.5 - 1.7mm to focus more on defense with mixed in offensive balls.

It really depends on how much (ratio) you intend to attack and how much you intend to defend on your forehand side.
