My friend, here in Canada, spent $2400 on bats in the last 6 months!

10 sheets of various Tenergy rubbers, 7 expensive Butterfly blades. The most expensive blade was $375. And about 6 other rubbers, all expensive ones.

This pic is of the 5 bats he had with him a few days ago.

Well, he actually has improved his game the last 6 months!

I'm sure he's not the only one that's ever don this... and on Butterfly stuff you get there very quickly.

Hopefully he's learned something from the experience. ;)

Ha.. OK, Monday I'll empty out the tote bag and take a photo. I spent a great deal less than he did, but.. well, there are too many rackets to carry around any more! Back around 2000 I had almost as many - but all of those I made myself..

Hey rokphish2!

It's very similar to your picture, only I don't actually scare very many people with my bat!!

Are you sure? I would be rather scared if my opponent whips out a blade like yours... Ha!
What's the story with your blade? Is it purposely done to look like that?

rokphish2 asked: What's the story with your blade? Is it purposely done to look like that?

My answer:

The blade is cut just above the handle to allow me to grip the handle with all 4 fingers. I don't play shakehand or penholder, I play glennholder. My grip is like you would hold a hammer. Only my power is not indicative of a strong hammer! I never was comfortable with the finger position with a shakehand grip. : (

I have other funny/ugly cuts along the edges of this blade to make the paddle lighter. 35 years of tennis gave me a sore wrist, so I need to keep my paddle very light.

Well, at least the ball never hits my finger!

Thanks for asking!
