Hi Guys,

I have been playing table tennis for a year, on and off but have only recently starting playing consistently.
I play c-pen style and am quite comfortable with my forehand. However, I am still working on my rpb. I think my footwork is quite good to play forehand only, but I would still like to learn rpb to a decent level.

I am looking for a good setup that will last me quite a few months.

Sorry if I sound stupid! I'm new here.
Cheers.

I'm not using anything special right now. Some cheap butterfly premade ~ $15.

Here's another member with similar situation as you. Not sure if you're in same city or not. If not, contact Alex and he'll set you up in no time.

The owner of the table tennis shop in Adelaide. I gave you the link to the store in previous post.

For beginner who wants to practise RPB Stiga OC can't go wrong.
If you have a bit of cash get a Rakza 7 on FH and Rakza 7 soft 1.8mm on BH. It would give you loads of control but not that fast.

How about the yasaka ma lin extra off? What rubber would suit that.

It's much more important to match the rubbers to your style and level, than it is matching it to the blade. That blade is a little fast for someone that's still developing their strokes, so I would suggest slower and high control rubbers, at least until you reach a higher level.

Go for a blade with good control. YEO might do. If you want more speed later on you can always change the rubber.
A slow blade ≠ slow game. If your blade is too fast it's hard to slow it down.
