Thanks to everyone for the support and advice. I have found HaggisV's shop and will do some online comparisons. Where it is not that much more expensive I don't object to paying a bit more knowing the place I buy something from is giving me proper advice and support. Once I get a new setup I will post details so this thread will not just fade away without and conclusive ending. I will return to work at the end of November so have time to put something in place before then.

Great stuff. Haggisv's advice is always spot on and service just as good.

I concur! You won't go wrong buying from OOAK, although purchases from even there do not come without the potential fro EJ's disease

Just a quick update should anyone be interested. I got some advice and have ordered a Donic Burn Off- blade with Juic Driva Smash Ultima rubber which will be waiting for me when I get back on the ship at the end of the month. I have also ordered some rubbers and glue to replace the worn tinarc on my old bat. Will try to fit it myself and it will offer an alternative. Once I have had a chance to play a few games I will report back again.

Good choice, I've not used the Donic Burn but have wanted too. They look great. Thanks for the update. Just take your time flying and cutting the rubber and you will be fine.

I am back at work and have played a few sessions with the new bat. Certainly different from my old bat but exactly what I expected and I am very happy with it. I am more successful in returning fast attacking shots and rather than just return the ball am beginning to exert some control over them. A bit of a learning curve as the softer returns need a bit more power to clear the net.
Now I am getting back into a routine my game will improve anyway and just having a good bat means errors cannot be blamed on the equipment. It was worth the wait and I look forward to getting in a lot of practice as I will be here over the holiday period including the Chinese New Year and work means limited celebrations but opportunity to do activities which do not involve alcohol.
My thanks go to everyone for the suggestions and advice.
