Bought some cans of beer on my way home from work last night. Didn't get them out until today to put in the fridge, one had leaked into my bag, including the bat case! I wonder what effect this will have!

The black rubbers were wettest and looked bleached, but a clean and a bit of time and they look normal again now. The bats smell like a brewery though!

If it was Carlsberg, your rubbers would probably transform in to the best rubbers in the world.

If your rubbers were fake and the beer was Budweiser they'd probably become the genuine article.

If it was Courage Beer, your setup would probably become what your right arm's for.

If it was Heineken and they were old rubbers, they'd probably be refreshed and play better than new.

If it was Miller's Beer, your rubbers will probably transform in to the Champagne of table tennis rubbers.

If it was Labbatt Blue, that VOC glue you've been using will probably have tranformed in to water based glue.

If it was Newcastle Brown Ale and you had LP's on, they'd probably change in to the other side of dark.

If it was Hemeling Lager, you'll probably give your opponents a right good hemeling next time you play them.

If it was Sagres beer and you had inferior Tenergy clones, now you'll be hard pressed to spot the difference.

If it was Stella Artois, your rubbers will either play like reassuringly expensive ones or look ugly but play great.

If it was Fosters and you're Australian, you'd probably be suicidal now.

If you're blade is a Peter Freundlieb custom made blade and you've spilt Beck's on it, you'll now appreciate unmitakable German Craftmanship.

If you're blade is a Ross Leidy masterpiece and you've spilt Boddington's on it, it'll still look a bit gorgeous.

If it was Guinness you've spilt, and it's got on some LP's, then out of the darkness will come light.

If it's John Smith's you've spilt, then you'll be a no nonsense player from now on.

Or, alternatively your rubber will become very tacky, the ball will stick to it like a sheet of Hurricane 3 but also be incredibly slow. A bit like smearing coca cola on your rubber - note other cola's are available ;) Or if this thread takes on a serious tone maybe it should be moved to the experimental section. We don't want to asociate table tennis with the purchase of alcohol especially minors.

Hopefully the beer won't make it bubble.
Your blade will be faster now that it is carbonated.
Are you still in your team or have you been canned?

It was a rather delicious but frighteningly strong Polish wheat beer called Debowe. Had a great win tonight, not sure the beer had anything to do with it though.... Or did it!?

Debater for post of the year award?
