Post subject:  Hinoki outers for chopping?

Hello all,

I know hinoki is nice for offense. I've always thought of it as a fast wood.

But I've noticed a few slower blades and even one defensive blade with hinoki outers. (Joola Rossi Emotion, Takashima H3).

Is the general consensus that it is too fast/bouncy for chopping?

I ask because I have a Joola Rossi Emotion that I had tried Meteorite 0.5mm on, and it felt way too fast and springy. Hard to control. But I have some P4 1.0mm coming in, which is slow and dampening and wonder if it would work on the emotion... Ever since my friend let me borrow his JSH with Feint Long III, I have been thinking of the Ruwen/Gionis style of chopping where the FH mostly fishes/guides/loops.
