Does anyone here have experience playing on a mini ping pong table?

My house doesn't have room for a full table and considering getting a mini table instead.

Another idea my wife and I were thinking about was to create a custom coffee table that is a half-sized ping pong table. We both play TT.

Any thoughts or advice is really appreciated before we spend our $$

Thank You

They're OK for fooling around but they aren't any good for serious play or developing skills. A lot of places that "have enough space for a full sized ping pong table" really don't, as you need maybe 10-15 feet behind at least, and 6-8 feet off to the sides. You could get away with scooting it up close to one wall to make room on the other side, then it'd be good for use with a robot or with a practice partner feeding multiball or blocking.

I agree with Iskander.
Also I have played on a mini table a lot, one that is also a convertible to a pool table. Playing pool is not that great but playing table tennis is still pretty fun even though its a little smaller. The big difference is the smaller area you have to hit the ball on and also you need faster reaction time maybe because there is less space between you and your opponent who is hitting the ball.
