I've been practicing lp's for some time now, but I miss being able to generate my own spin and I found out that defense really isn't the future of tt (unfortunately). I still think I have good technique, and I can do nice bh flicks. I won't change my fh rubber (as I love that one), I'm thinking of buying the eastfield allwood blade (5 plies), and I would like something similar to t05fx, but not that expensive. Do you think that blade is a good choice and does any of you know substitutes for the t05 fx?

The Eastfield blade looks pretty good though I've never used it. Just be careful that is no more expensive than the classic All-round blades such as Donic Appelgren, Stiga All-round Classic, Yasaka Sweden Classic or you might as well get one of them. I can't understand why the Tibhar Drinkall All-round is more expensive than the others, is it worth it?

Interesting read, but a bit dated.. last updated in 2015. Says Evolution rubbers are made in Japan.. I always thought they were Tensors. Interesting to be reminded that Tenergy came out in 2008.. nine years ago.. and still rules the roost.

Iskandar, that doesn't make it easier for me The Bluefire jp3 looks really nice, but still is a bit costly. I think the eastwood is a good choice, but still not sure about the rubber. The rakza 07 is mostly seen as a fh rubber, would that be a good choice for the bh then?

Iirc you're using lp (Neptune) since April of this year, and you've been willing to go defensive with the whole summer available to train and to do exercise with it. So, it didn't take you long to ditch that idea. It wasn't a plan, wasn't it? Otherwise the rule 'to become successful, make a plan and then stick to it' doesn't apply here.
Up to ELO 1800 I regularly meet players with pips. 2nd Bundesliga in Austria has some specialists as well.
Then there's Panagiotis, Filus, Weixing, Muramatsu etc. etc..
Imagine a world where the style of the future for everyone would be the style of Mima Ito...

As a backhand pips-in rubber, anything that is more or less like SriverFX would do. But nonetheless, it's you and your technique that defines the worth of your game, not the rubber you choose.

Try one of the cheaper Tensors then.. maybe Rasant? Or Baracuda? Or better yet.. learn to twiddle..

I am kinda disappointed in myself for not pursuing the defense dream. I would rather climb to the top with that rather than any other style. The thing is, that won't happen. I'm already 16 years old, my club is not giving trainings correctly (suggested many times). I would literally want to train 24/7, but that's never possible. I got so much motivation, I just can't bring it into words. I just want to get there you know . I know of myself (sounds selfish) that it is in there somewhere.. Edit: the baracuda isn't a tensor right? I think I'm going to go with stiga allround classic blade instead of the Eastfield.

Yep agree, you are definitely past your best, in fact I'd go as far as to say you are a washed up has been along with the rest of us on the scrap heap of table tennis.

What, for a lot of us, is a "forehand rubber" is apparently a "backhand rubber" to the Chinese.. I'm currently using Tin Arc on the forehand, but it was designed to be used on the backhand, the counterpart to H3 on the forehand. So maybe it'd work OK on the backhand here? The reason I tried it was because someone said it was like Tenergy.. It is comparatively cheap compared to Tensors.

Baracuda works fone on the bh and is pretty cheap. I'm sure vega euro would be good as well.

Can't comment on the blade that you mentioned but if you are after a 5 ply something like a Donic All play and would be a bit more substantial than a Stiga All round.

A good substitute for T05FX is Evolution FX-P
Remember using a fast setup with a T80 on one side and a FX-P on the other side and I must preferred the FX-P.
Evolution rubbers wear well and the quality is excellent.

Another highly regarded rubber is the Omega V Europe - personally I wasn't mad on this. In max thickness it was quite heavy so you could opt 2.0. This is currently at a reduced price on table tennis11 which would be a good value option.

The classic in 42.5 degree is Donic S2. It's the recommended BH for developing Juniors.
