Thanks for all the suggestions. I read a lot of threads and tried to make a informed decision. But it always feels better to ask before I pull the trigger. I thought having two rackets on hand is a good idea. On the one I will be building should I seal the blade prior to gluing on the rubbers? Seems to be a smart thing to do after reading about it.

If you bought the combo, they'll probably glue it for you. If you're assembling your own racket, definitely seal it first. No big deal, just buy some oil-based Polyurethane (if you live near Indy then Red Devil from Wal-Mart ought to work), apply it with a paper towel (a.k.a. "kitchen roll" ), get it into all the nooks and crannies and the sides, and then wipe as much of it off as you can with another paper towel.
