Blade: OSP Expert+
FH: Adidas P7
BH: Butterfly Tackiness C2
Dear all,

My skill level is intermediate. To make this more clear, about 40% of all players registered in my country are better than me.
At this moment my equipment is:
Blade: OSP Expert+ (http://www.tabletennisdb.com/blade/osp- ... -plus.html)
FH: Adidas P7, 1.8mm, red (http://www.tabletennisdb.com/rubber/adidas-p7.html)
BH: Butterfly Tackiness C2, 1.7mm, black (http://www.tabletennisdb.com/rubber/but ... hop-2.html)

I have an allround playstyle, more defensively with BH, more offensively/topspin oriented wtih FH. I like to build up the point with pushes/blocks, to attack as soon as I get the chance with topspin (mostly with FH).

When I try to open up on backspin, I mostly do it with FH (since my BH isn't as good). I don't really have the right BH equipment either, since Tackiness C2 is a rather slow rubber. I chose TC2 for its high control. I noticed I tried to open up on backspin more often with my BH lately, so I think I'm ready for a rubber a little faster, so opponents would have a more difficult time returning my open ups on backspin with BH. However, I still like to have (very) good control, as I'm still developping my BH (making my BH strokes better/more steady).

Alternatives I came across:
    Tackiness Drive
    Evolution FX-S

Do you have any suggestions to replace my rubber on BH? And what do you think about the above mentionned alternatives?

Kind regards

If You opt to Tack Drive, make sure You buy it slightly thicker to slow it down. It may too fast for put decent spin on chopping.

My Recs, for similar and slightly faster Tack 2 alternatives,

Butterfly Tackifire C Soft
SpinLord Marder
Friendship/729 Sky Wing
Stiga Drive
Xiom Musa
Friendship/729 40S
Tuttle World No.1
Palio CJ8000 Biotech 39-41°
Donic Quattro A'Conda Soft
Butterfly Tackiness Chop 2

I assume you meant thinner? (thicker sponge = more speed/spin, less control?)

Tackiness drive is very close in speed to tc 11,an upgrade in speed with control is Sriver fx,slightly faster Sriver el,Mark v faster again all very manageable

I would recommend Spinlord Marder II which I am currently using on my FH. Marder I is very similar to Tackiness Chop. Marder II has similar characteristics but is significantly faster. Would be a notch or two faster than Tackiness Chop 2.

No, I really means thicker. ;)

While it does make it more sensitive to incoming spin,

The dampening sponge behind them help absorb ball speed. ;)

I doubt that Tack D has a dampening sponge. They are usually only found on some defensive rubbers (a few anti's & long pips). In other cases thinner generally = less speed & more control.

I had Tackiness d in 1.3 and 1.9,the 1.3 was significantly slower and much better for slicing the ball

What blade did you use the TDrive 1.9 on
How fast was it in comparison to classic rubbers or even T05. Quick enough for fast counterattack on an all/all+ blade?
Is the 1.9 sensitive to spin e.g receiving serve?

I tried Tackiness d on Defplay senso and it did not harmonize well and belongs in a bygone era, slower then a Sriver fx and el much slower than T05,I have better possibilities with T05 and surprisingly better control ,To5 is excellent on all, all+ I`m using it on a Stiga all and Avalox 550 now in summer testing

Well, true non dampening sponge would be harder than wood behind it, and we would not be able to loop with it cause no time to create spin. :P

With tackiness Chop 2 in 1.5 mm, I can be confident that chop against fast ball wont overshot the table.

With Tackiness Drive, I need at least 1.9 mm, cause the sponge not dampening enough that I cant create enough backspin to keep ball on the table,

Using my Defence Alpha. :)

Still, If You love Butterfly, Tackifire C Soft is a much sensible choice than Tackiness Drive.

Or, We have a lot of player that familliar with Marder and Musa here, which also a good choice.
