Hello all,

i am an all round offensive TT player, so far i have been playing with a pre-assembled bat GKI Euro and now i wanted to upgrade as i have developed my game in to offensive style. after performing a lot of research on the internet and keeping a tight watch on the wallet. i have narrowed down to these options below. need your reviews and comments here...

Blade - Yasaka sweden extra
FH: Andro rasant power grip (1.9mm)
BH: Xiom vega pro (2.0mm)

Blade: VKMO
FH: Victas VS > 401
BH: Victas Spectol S1
Looks good, dunno why you would dislike that setup. Out of curiosity though, why do you have thinner sponge on your forehand? Most people I know have thicker sponge on the FH and thinner sponge on the backhand, if not equal on both sides.

Dan, thanks for your comment. as i was customizing the racquet for the first time i was not sure how it would turn out. rasant has sponge thickness of 1.7, 1.9 and 2.1mm i wanted a 2.0mm sponge in FH and BH as well. the closet i could get is 1.9mm.
i would totally agree that i should have used a max sponge but not knowing the speed and control of the rubber i chose 1.9mm and 2.0mm sponge.

Blade: Donic Waldner Senso V1
FH: Donic Baracuda Big Slam
BH: Victas Triple Regular
I've always taken one level down from max so can see what you've done there. Sounds sensible to me and a very nice set up.

I didn't know it was legal to put anything other than Mark V on a Sweden Extra? ;)
Welcome sammyak, I think you chose well.

I'd suggest going for max sponge, if you're going to play a looping game. The ball has changed since 2000 - it's bigger and slower, and recently got (slightly) bigger and slower yet again. I don't think you're going to have control problems, especially not with that blade.

Thanks iskandar and dusty....
have already placed an order and its in transit, have to live with 1.9mm at this moment but will upgrade to max rubber some time later next year...
at first wanted to use markV on YSE, i tried out MarkV, i could play the shots that i wanted, but it lacked speed and especially loops i felt the ball was bouncing much higher than it should, not sure if it was problem with my technique or the rubber...this gives other player an opportunity to attack the ball....so i preferred hard and speed rubbers (rasant & vega pro)
