OOAK Table Tennis Forum

Just got a couple of blades and rubbers and need to put them together. I have some Elmer's Rubber Cement at home but figured it would be easier to use the XVT Glue sheets so I got 10 of those on sale. Now, the question is, should I seal the blades with Minwax or not? I do plan to move the rubbers around, at least some of them. And how do you guys cut the rubbers? Xacto knife or scissors? I have some foam tape but still want to cut the rubbers nicely.

Everyone will have their own methods. I don't know what Minwax is. I use a couple of coats of water based blade sealer. I only use glue sheets with ox pimples and then only if the base is particularly thin and flimsy. I use a retractable cutting knife on rubbers, breaking off a piece for each new sheet. Exacto knife or scalpel might be even better. I've seen others do a perfect job with scissors, I just don't seem to have the knack. I'm a lefty and I blame right handed scissors .
