A lot of references to a variety of aliexpress stores around this forum, that’s for sure. But what are some of the best ones, and how do I find them?

Do you mean the best stores without fakes etc. or the cheapest stores for a given product?
The Tianjing-stores at Ali (there at least 6 afair) are the same or at least very close to Eacheng - and almost everything they offer is priced differently, so with some investment in time you'll save some bucks with any order you do.
I do not order products which are completely unknown, then I do look at the price and finally I'll let Ali sort the stuff by orders made.
Anyway, all my orders at Ali were fine or at least o.k. so far, especially the tt-stuff didn't gave me a reason to comply.

Easy way to find all the Eachengs. Search for "Yinhe 9000". All the stores that sell the 2-pack Yinhe 9000 "generic" rubbers are actually Eacheng in disguise. There's I think seven of them now (and two on ebay!). Prices differ among them, sometimes dramatically, go for the cheapest one. And prices change all the time, too. I've also seen them on Amazon, and they've got other "stores" on non-US versions of ebay.

Why do you think they do this?

Gets more sales, I think. We're in the know, we know these are all the same shop. But a lot of people don't, some will end up buying the more expensive items. Also when you do a search, and 70% of the listings that pop up belong to YOUR store, you're more likely to get the sale than the other guy who has only one listing appear. Reminds me of the old PC Week magazine in the early 1990s - this was a free trade magazine they would send to you free if you filled out a huge questionnaire, it was maybe 70% ads and 30% articles aimed at computer professionals. The articles were really good, kept you up to date on things such as processors, storage and video cards (which were changing weekly). There were maybe 10-15 two or three page ads in there from companies selling computers. What people didn't realize was that most of these were actually from two companies - PCs Unlimited and Everex. They'd change the bezels on the front of the boxes and sell them under different names, but they were more or less the same on the inside, and you had a choice of options. Everex - not really sure what happened to them. PCs Unlimited eventually changed its name to Dell.

That makes sense, although you'd have to wonder if it's worth all the extra effort.
I do think it's a little deceptive to the customers, but I guess AliExpress is like the Wild West, so anything goes.

Yeah, it's deceptive but I think it's done all the time, you're probably just not aware of it. Examples would be, say, three brands of soap that are made in the same factory and are sold by companies owned by one umbrella company. They'd sell more soap than if they just had one brand out there. Or car tires, or cars, even. Especially cars - one single car model may be sold under 2-3 different names, by different dealerships, with minor cosmetic differences, at widely different prices. In the US, Chevrolet, Buick, Oldsmobile, Cadillac... More exposure in the marketplace, while still benefitting from economies of scale.

Are you sure they are not just drop-ship type stores owned by different traders? That'll make more sense than Eacheng having 7 stores at Aliexpress, 2 in Ebay, and however more at Amazon; and all having different prices?

Why would these independent "drop-ship" stores all share the same merchandise, share the same web page design and wording and all ship using the name "Zhibin Tian" from the same address in Tianjin?

Well, I'm not saying I know it for a fact. But isn't it more likely that they're like a franchise type business where they all used the same web design provided by Eacheng, selling Eacheng products, and shipped by Eacheng? Thus same products shipped by the same person from the same warehouse, but you pay to different owners/franchisees who in turn pays Eacheng?

Maybe I can sign up and become one of them too tomorrow! Lol...(just joking)

Go to www.aliexpress.com. Search for "Yinhe 9000". You'll see some vendors selling the no-label twin packs. Each and every one of those is an Eacheng. Should be seven or eight of them by now.
