Hi,

Can anyone make-out whether this blade has any carbon layer(s)? And if yes, how many?

Yep.. That's what I thought.. But the manufacturer insists that it's a 5wood+2 carbon layers

A carbon layer will be thin black line just below the outer ply. In this case the outer ply looks black. Is the face of blade black like on the TSP black balsa?

You should be able notice a difference in feel and stiffness between a 5 ply wood and a 5 ply plus carbon pretty quickly.

They probably will even sound quite different on a ball test, with a large sweet spot if there is carbon layers.

I am sure some members used to wood blades with and without carbon will be able to advise more.

Well... If the manufacturer says so...
Besides you could tell which manufacturer and which model is the blade along with information or stock photo.

Hi,

It's a blade from a lesser known Chinese manufacturer, and it was bought from Aliexpress... I don't want to mentioned the name, just incase we're wrong...

Anyway...here's a stock photo

Watching the stock photo((s) - it's not hard to find the blade online) I would say that there are 2 carbon layers. But from your photo it doesn't seem so.

Stock photo shows inner carbon blade, carbon after the core.

Yes i agree, the stock photo shows carbon layers, yours does not. Carbon layers must be continuous (else the blade is not legal), so it should extend to the other edge, making it visible. Is it perhaps visible elsewhere, like in the handle part?

The carbon layer is more prominently visible in the stock photo of the blade..

Here're some more photos of my blade...

You can clearly see the two carbon layers in those two photos. As the carbon layer has two wood layers outside it should give the benefits of carbon i.e increased sweet spot and power whilst still giving good feel.

Let us know how it plays.

Lesser known Chinese brand - XVT?? I like butt shots to show layers, e.g.:

Easiest way to get a good one is with a flatbed scanner. A lot of inkjet printers sold today have flatbed scanners built it.
